​Role Purpose: The Heart of the Velodrome

​The General Assistant is essential to the smooth functioning of the Velodrome. You will be responsible for maintaining operational readiness, ensuring facility cleanliness, and delivering a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are supporting a high-profile sporting event or assisting a first-time visitor, your work directly impacts our reputation for excellence. ​Key Responsibilities

​1. Safety, Health & Compliance

​Safety is our non-negotiable priority. You will play a proactive role in maintaining a secure environment by:

  • ​Ensuring the safety of all staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • ​Conducting statutory operational checks (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • ​Adhering strictly to Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
  • ​Assisting in incident management and escalating critical issues to the Duty Manager.

​2. Elite Customer Service

​You are the face of Modon. Your goal is to provide a professional and inclusive welcome to all guests by:

  • ​Acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries and documentation.
  • ​Resolving customer concerns with empathy and efficiency.
  • ​Supporting reception duties and staying informed about upcoming events and programs.

​3. Operational & Facility Support

​To keep our facilities running at peak performance, you will:

  • ​Manage the setup and dismantling of equipment for sessions and events.
  • ​Oversee the issuance and maintenance of fleet bikes and rental gear.
  • ​Maintain cleanliness across indoor and outdoor areas.
  • ​Monitor locker usage and assist with the inspection of technical equipment.

​4. Growth & Teamwork

​As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the facility’s success by:

  • ​Identifying opportunities to upsell products and services to meet customer needs.
  • ​Supporting promotional activities and community outreach.
  • ​Assisting People of Determination to ensure our facility remains accessible to all.

​Who We Are Looking For

​We value candidates who are proactive, culturally aware, and possess a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Communication: Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Certifications: First Aid at Work and Defibrillator training are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Proven background in a busy, customer-facing environment, ideally within the leisure or events sector.
  • Mindset: A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and event-day shifts.
