Role Overview
The Warehouse Helper supports daily warehouse operations and is essential for maintaining smooth inventory flow. This position involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods to meet store demands. Working under the Warehouse Supervisor, you will ensure products move through the facility safely while maintaining high levels of organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receiving & Inbound Operations
- Assist in unloading goods from suppliers and verifying quantities.
- Identify discrepancies and assist in labeling and sorting items.
- Place items in designated storage and ensure all receiving paperwork is completed accurately.
2. Picking, Packing & Outbound Operations
- Pick items for store orders or online requests with 100% accuracy.
- Pack products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Assist in staging, loading, and dispatching shipments according to schedules to ensure timely stock replenishment.
3. Inventory Management
- Participate in regular inventory counts (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual).
- Maintain proper stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO methods.
- Report any shortages, damages, or excess stock to the Warehouse Supervisor to protect profitability.
4. Warehouse Housekeeping & Safety
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, safe, and organized.
- Operate equipment (pallet jacks, trolleys, ladders) safely and follow all PPE protocols.
- Promptly report hazards to maintain a secure working environment.
5. Supervisory Support
- Execute operational tasks assigned by supervisors and assist in reorganizing storage.
- Contribute to workflow improvements through teamwork and a positive attitude.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school certificate or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in warehouse, logistics, or retail operations.
- Skills: Basic understanding of warehouse procedures and good communication skills.
- Physical: Ability to lift/move heavy items and stay physically active.
- Traits: Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
