Career Opportunity: Stores Controller at Air Arabia Abu Dhabi
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, a leading force in the regional low-cost carrier market, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stores Controller to join its technical operations division. This pivotal role ensures the seamless management of tools, equipment, and spare parts necessary for the maintenance of Air Arabia’s fleet and third-party aircraft.
By joining the team, you will become a guardian of operational excellence, ensuring that every component—from the smallest bolt to massive engine parts—is handled with the precision required to maintain the highest safety standards in aviation.
The Core Mission
The primary objective of the Stores Controller is to oversee the daily lifecycle of inventory within the airline’s technical stores. This involves the systematic receipt, storage, and release of maintenance materials. You will act as a bridge between the warehouse and the engineering team, ensuring that technicians have exactly what they need, when they need it, to keep the fleet airworthy. All activities must be performed in strict accordance with GCAA regulations and internal company protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
1. Strategic Inventory Management
You will manage the flow of essential tools, kits, and consumables (such as oils, batteries, and wheels). This includes:
- Performing daily inspections to monitor environmental conditions like temperature and humidity to protect sensitive components.
- Organizing binning locations and ensuring every item is correctly tagged within the ICARUS Inventory Control System.
2. Digital Accuracy and Documentation
In modern aviation, data is as important as hardware. You will be responsible for:
- Updating the RAL system to track inventory movement, shelf life, and calibration schedules.
- Pre-loading requirements for Aircraft Daily Defects (ADD) and Maintenance Deferred Defects (MDD) to facilitate rapid repairs.
- Maintaining rigorous records of all tool issuances and returns.
3. Logistics and Coordination
The role requires high-level coordination with the Rotables Team and external vendors. You will manage the return of unserviceable parts for repair and assist with the complex logistics of handling Dangerous Goods (DG), engines,
and APUs. Regular stock reporting and discrepancy resolution are also key components of this function.
4. Safety and Compliance
Safety is the bedrock of Air Arabia. You will support the Stores Supervisor in maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment that complies with IATA and GCAA safety measures, ensuring the workflow is optimized for both speed and security.
Candidate Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of technical knowledge and physical stamina:
- Education: High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and a valid UAE Driving License.
- Experience: 1–2 years in aviation inventory management. Familiarity with low-cost carrier operations and GCAA regulations is a significant advantage.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory software. Strong English communication skills are essential.
- Attributes: You must be highly organized, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and physically fit to handle heavy equipment.
